A holistic relationship between architecture and landscape distinguishes JANUSZÓWKA’s realizations. In our portfolio we have many completed projects combining the existing landscape, discreetly adapted to the programmed function, the interior open to specially created sight lines and water that builds atmosphere on many levels of perception. The interplay of architecture and landscape draws you into the creation at the stage of conception and design, construction, and, above all, furnishing, use, and transformation over time with changing tastes.
The archetype of a barn near Krakow
A picture of the nature of the unusual surroundings of the house in Garliczka is framed by the simple wooden windows. In the sunshine, it is as if we are simultaneously outside and inside. The house sits on a plot of land that benefits from a forest and a huge garden. The large eastern glazing opens up the day, the lower southern glazing allows for sunny penetration in winter. The sunsets over Krakow enhance the colour of the brick loggia of the balcony. Urban planning, the way in which one plot of land, the whole village, is developed, has an impact on the quality of life.
The location and form of the house divide the plot into a northern profane entrance area and the private south crowned by a field of lavender. The house and the delicately modelled landscape are sculpted with respect for tradition and through new means of expression. The form is inspired by the archetype of the barn encountered more than once in Garliczka and its surroundings. A compact, sparse almost ascetic shape, boards, sheet metal … .

The Three Cultures lookout tower on Śnieżnik
In 2012, the municipalities: Bystrzyca Kłodzka, Stronie Śląskie and Międzylesie, which form the Śnieżnik Association of Municipalities, started the project entitled ‘Tower of Three Cultures. Documentation for the reconstruction of the viewing tower on Śnieżnik. The project was financed from EU funds, from the Operational Programme of Cross-border Cooperation Czech Republic-Poland 2007-2013. As part of the architectural competition announced at the time, the concept of the JANUSZÓWKA studio from Bielsko-Biała was selected and construction documentation was prepared for it. The next few years were spent in the process of legal formalisation, raising funds for construction and selecting a contractor. Construction of the tower began in 2021.
In justifying the choice of architectural design, it was emphasised that the concept chosen was the closest in character and scale to the original tower,
and that the most environmentally favourable construction option acceptable to the Provincial Council for Nature Conservation was also in its favour.
The new tower is of steel construction, set on reinforced concrete foundations. The architects wanted to make use of the original material, so the ground floor core was encased in stones left over from the demolition of the old tower. The higher parts of the building – the straight part and the observation deck – were glazed.
The tower is more than 34 metres high. The cost of the investment was approximately PLN 13.6 million. Construction work was completed in September 2022, and the official opening of the Snieznik Tower took place on 26 September 2022.

stages of cooperation
We start our cooperation with a conversation about your expectations and needs regarding the designed space. The initial stage of activities also includes pre-design work: field inspection, photographic documentation, necessary measurements for the purpose of the project. Each of the subsequent stages is carried out with your participation and approval, thanks to which the finished project precisely matches the previously established assumptions.
We introduce you to the atmosphere of your design. Among other things, you will receive from us a functional and spatial layout, layout plans, visualisations, models, inspiration sheets and proposed solutions.
We provide you with complete technical documentation, which includes detailed execution drawings, projections and sections, quantity lists necessary for pricing, data sheets of selected materials and equipment elements. On the basis of the complete technical documentation, we can help in selecting a contractor.
We look forward to working with you during the construction phase. We are happy to assist you in the implementation of the construction work so that it proceeds as designed. We are your support, we are happy to provide assistance and experience. As part of our supervision, we meet in our studio for consultations and on the construction site. Together with the contractor, we choose the best solutions during the construction phase.
